Robert Carmona

Robert Carmona(Father) is an avid angler and enthusiastic world traveler. Robert has been exploring the Baja Peninsula as a Diver, Hunter, Angler and Adventurer since the early 1950’s. He drove to Cabo for the first time back in 1955 in an old Army Weapons carrier. Back then the Dirt road started at Ensenada!! A few years later he brought down a trailer and his family to Ensenada. There he dove for lobsters and hunted in the distant canyons for Quail, doves and Rabbits with his 3 sons Robert, James and Russell. After 10 years in Ensenada he “discovered” the K38 area and moved the family north so his boys could learn to surf. After building a house on the beach he decided to invest in a nice piece of property and start building what is now Roberts K38 Surf Motel. That my friend is the very short version of Robert’s story.

Russ Carmona

Russell Carmona(Son) is a surfer, photographer, videographer, Diver, Angler, World traveler etc, etc. He was first brought down to Baja(Ensenada) at the age of 6 months old and learned to snorkel there at King’s Trailer Park. At age 9 the family moved to the K38 area and Russ started learning to surf. At the age of 18 he moved to Maui where he attended MCC (Maui Community College) and later the University of Hawaii at Hilo. Once the travel bug bit Russ it never let go and he has traveled to more than 70 countries around the globe with many more still to go, hopefully. Exploring the Baja has always been one of his favorite ways to escape. Newly married to Janeth Suarez Flores in 2018 he now has the perfect travel and adventure partner.
